20 Year High School Reunion

Saturday, January 17th, I attended my 20 Year High School Reunion in New Orleans. I graduated in 1988 from a small private school in Metairie, LA. The class of '88 consisted of 42 students...26 which attended the reunion. The reunion was held at Antoine's Restaurant in the Historic New Orleans French Quarter. The menu is top notch and is a very high class restaurant. The appetizers and the private room were compliments of the class president...very generous! I certainly enjoyed seeing faces I haven't seen in many many years. The majority of people look very much the same as they did in high school. Through the years I have kept in touch with a number of people and recently have reconnected with others through Facebook. After the reunion, we went with a couple of friends for a late dinner at the Bourbon House....delicious seafood! Of course, I have to share a handful of pictures from the evening!

I would like to give a big HUGE Thank you to my parents for watching Kyle while we attended the reunion and letting him spend the night. I'm sure he had a lot of fun being spoiled by CeCe and Poppie. Thanks again...it was greatly appreciated!

Back In The Swing

It's time to get back into the swing of our normal routine since Kyle had eighteen days off from preschool and John had seventeen days off from work. Wow, that sure was a long time, but it certainly did go by very fast. We enjoyed the holidays and spending each and everyday together as a family.

Kyle had plenty of good times...moving into his new room (pics to come in the near future), a visit with Ce Ce and Poppy (my parents), a visit from Santa, and plenty of playtime. As enjoyable as the holidays are it is nice to get back to our everyday life in our tiny part of the world. We are slowly regaining control of our house and putting the Christmas decorations away. Kyle seemed very happy to go to school this morning and had a great day which I was very happy about since he was gone from school for so long.

Our normal routine won't last for very long since we are leaving next week for a road trip to New Orleans for my high school reunion. It was scheduled several months ago, but cancelled due to a hurricane. We are looking forward to our stay in The Big Easy. I really want Kyle to have the opportunity to learn about New Orleans since it will always be my home away from home.

Plans Are Finally Set

I think I may need a vacation from planning a vacation. If you haven't followed our vacation plans you can read the previous posts here, here, and here.

Due to the uncertainty of Hurricane Gustav, I have decided not to attend my high school reunion in New Orleans. I'm very disappointed, but am hoping it will be rescheduled. Instead, we are heading to Gatlinburg, TN. We went to Gatlinburg last year and had a wonderful vacation. Since our plans were spur of the moment, we thought it would be best to go somewhere we knew, instead of planning a trip to a new destination on such short notice. We will pack and prepare things tomorrow and hit the road on Friday morning. Kyle is a year older so we are planning different activities than we did last year.

My parents are taking precautions and are evacuating the New Orleans area. They will be in Gatlinburg as well, so they will have the opportunity to visit with Kyle. Who knows...maybe even do a little babysitting??? Ha.Ha.

I guess, we weren't meant to go to the beach this year, but may plan to go next year...obviously, before hurricane season begins!!

High School Reunion

Yikes, my 20 year high school reunion is next month. A perfect reason to make a trip to New Orleans. I guess, this means a major diet and new wardrobe are in my near future. Hopefully, there will be a nice turnout. I graduated with 42 people and everyone seems to be spread out in various states, so we shall see. This will be our third reunion since graduation...6 years, 10 years, and now 20! Time sure does fly!!

Kyle will be spending the night at CeCe and Poppy's (my parents) house, getting spoiled rotten, I'm sure!
