My New Laptop

A couple of weeks ago, John ordered me a new laptop. My old one has several issues (mainly cosmetic) and he didn't think it was worth getting the items repaired. Also, my laptop is by far one of the most used electronics in our house (sad, but true!), so it was a little easier to justify purchasing the new computer. I LOVE my new laptop...in midnight blue. I chose this color since it is the same color as my new car! I'm still in the process of transferring files and links to the new computer and learning about the fun new features. We have been experiencing terrible internet and phone service and unfortunately, since the laptop arrived, the internet has been down the majority of the time :( Hopefully, this issue will be fully resolved by Friday since we are having new service installed for our phone, internet, and television. I'm sure it will be much better...needless to say it can't be much worse than what we have been living with. Well, enough of my tangent vent, but thanks for "listening". The biggest change is the fact that the new computer has Windows Vista instead of Windows Internet Explorer which I'm so accustomed too. I'm sure I will adjust in due time to the changes. Any comments about Windows Vista vs. Internet Explorer are welcome. I would love to hear how the two compare and which you prefer using on your computer. Thanks in advance for any suggestions and information.

A Little Concerned

Well, a "little" concerned is an understatement. I'm "overly" concerned because I've been receiving error messages on my laptop the past day or so and my husband is afraid the hard-drive may be going. He has started to transfer, save, and back up files to our desktop computer so I don't loose anything valuable.

I'm just not sure what I will do if my laptop dies and I won't have "mobile" internet access for a period of time. I may just have to take over my husband's laptop! It's amazing how attached you become to certain things once you have them.

I know I sound pathetic! I'll stop my whining now! Thanks for "listening"!

My Little Computer Nerd

I’m afraid we may have another “computer nerd” on our hands. I say "another" because Daddy is a software geek….I mean engineer (LOL). Actually it would be nice to have two computer experts under one roof.

Kyle has been fascinated with Mommy and Daddy’s laptops. I’m always so afraid he is going to damage or break one of our computers so I came up with a brilliant idea. Why not get Kyle his very first laptop. While Kyle was at school this morning Mommy went shopping…Yeah!! Kyle now has an adorable Vtech Tote & Go Laptop Plus!! It features many activities to teach language, math, and music. The laptop is probably “above” Kyle’s skill level at this time, but it will be a great toy for him to grow into and in the meantime keeps Mommy and Daddy’s computers safe from his little hands….at least that is the plan!! Included are a couple of pictures of Kyle checking out his new computer. He already seems to love it so it was a great purchase!!
