Day One - Journey to Our New Kitchen
As you can see from the pictures below quite a bit of work was accomplished today in our kitchen. As of now, we have no appliances, cabinets, or counter top. The floor is still in place but will be removed tomorrow. We now have our refrigerator in our family room, our make-shift eating area in our living room, and stacks of boxes in our dining room. Take out food will be our best friend as we will be giving plenty of business to nearby restaurants. This evening we brought Kyle into the kitchen and he had a very concerned look on his face and said "Oh, no!!!" He doesn't understand what is taking place, but certainly is very curious! More pictures to come tomorrow!

The Journey Begins
The journey to our new kitchen began today!! John and I are super excited that this day has finally arrived. Remodeling our kitchen has been a topic of discussion off and on since we purchased the house five years ago. Yes, it is very inconvenient, noisey, dirty ....especially for Kyle and me since we are home during the day, but we don't mind dealing with the issues because the end result will be our beautiful new kitchen. Everything has been delivered and is ready to roll...appliances, flooring, backsplash, and lighting. Until the transformation is complete I plan to update daily to show the progression that is being made.
Below are several pictures of our kitchen taken prior to the demolition taking place. If you are interested, please continue to check back for further updates as the journey to our new kitchen continues.

Class Photo
Last month Kyle's preschool class had their picture taken along with his teacher, assistants (otherwise known as para-professionals), and the speech therapist. Since the picture was taken two little boys have joined the class! Kyle is by far the smallest child in the class, but the age range of the students is 3-5 year olds so Kyle is one of the younger ones in the class. Kyle definitely still wants to hold on to his nickname of "My Little Munchkin". Plus they do say "Good things come in small packages."

Circus on Sodor
Saturday morning we took Kyle to see Thomas the Train...Live on Stage! A fun time was had by all, especially our Little Thomas Fan! Kyle was beyond excited when he saw Thomas "choo-choo" onto the stage along with Percy, James, Gordon, and Harold the Helicopter! The show was great and to see the huge smile on Kyle's face made it all worth while! Nothing makes John and me happier than to see Kyle happy...that's what being a parent is all about!

New Lawncare Service
Recently, we hired a new lawncare service to cut our grass..."Munchkin Mowers". The owner, Kyle, sure is a cutie, if I do say so myself!
Actually, Kyle wouldn't mind helping with the lawn because he likes playing with all the equipment...mower, trimmer, blower, but unfortunately, he is still too young! One day this will be his responsibility (one of many, I am sure!), but for now Mommy and Daddy are stuck with the duty! It's a good thing, we actually enjoy working in the yard...well, except when it's scroching hot outside and even then it certainly can be a lot of fun!

Happy Earth Day!
Kyle was in the Earth Day spirit.
It's hard to see the writing in the picture,
but the wording on his shirt says
"Recycle...Keep it Green".

Big Day of Fun
Saturday morning, Kyle attended "Vehicle Day", an event sponsored by the local school district. What a fun-filled morning it was...Kyle was in a vehicle "wonderland". There were so many various types of vehicles on display...firetruck, police car, ambulance, school bus, motorcycle, garbage truck, electricity truck, UPS truck, dump truck, John Deere tractors, snow plow truck, salt truck, and various pieces of construction equipment. Kyle had the opportunity to "drive" each of the vehicles and play with all the buttons inside. By far, all the children enjoyed honking the horns since there were horns honking every second!
Kyle certainly had a big day of fun! This was a wonderful event and was definitely right up Kyle's alley! Of course, we took many pictures so here are a few for your enjoyment!
Kyle riding the Harley motorcycle...Vroom Vroom!
Let me get this thing in gear!

Fresh Air Enjoyment
What a beautiful day we had in St. Louis today, so we headed out this evening for a little family walk and a wagon ride for Kyle. He still prefers to ride in his wagon...he realizes it's the best seat in the house for a walk! This way he can sit back, relax, enjoy and let Mommy and Daddy do all the hard work...pulling the wagon!
Personally, I was very excited about the fact that Kyle actually was able to wear shorts and a short sleeve shirt. I'm really hoping this weather will continue since the jeans he's been wearing all winter have a few too many miles to be worn much longer!
Of course, a walk wouldn't be complete without pictures to share so enjoy!
Kyle excited and ready for his ride!
As much as he enjoys the wagon, he does like to get out and explore!
As you can see, he loves to play with his trucks and cars in the flower pots. He won't be happy with Mommy in the near future
when the pots won't be his toys any longer.
Where did my baby go...Kyle looks so grown up in this picture!

Easter Activities - Kyle Style
Kyle certainly had his fair share of Easter activities today! Kyle DID receive a visit from the Easter Bunny...he must have been a good little boy this year! The bunny sure does know what excites Kyle because he delivered Hot Wheels/Matchbox cars, a carrying case for the cars, construction equipment vehicles to be used in the dirt outside, and an Easter card from Mommy and Daddy with a choo-choo train on the front! Recently, Kyle has been having a ball playing with many of his Daddy's hot wheel cars, but many of them are falling apart and not very safe for Kyle to be playing with, so we thought it was time he had a set of his very own!
On top of all the goodies the bunny left for Kyle, he also hid many eggs in the front yard for Kyle to locate... Yes, Kyle's 3rd Easter Egg Hunt of the year! He was so excited to see the eggs in the front yard...each egg he saw he would point and say "Whoa" and run to it...so cute!! To complete the Easter activities Kyle had his festive cupcake and also completed an Easter craft!
I sure hope Kyle has enjoyed the Easter season this year complete with three egg hunts, coloring Easter eggs, a visit with the Easter bunny, and I'm sure his favorite...the vehicle goodies left by the bunny!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter celebrating with their family and friends!

More Easter Fun!
This afternoon we headed to yet another Easter Egg Hunt held at a local park. The weather was very sunny and nice for a family adventure. Kyle was able to run, swing, slide, and play on the playground before hunting for the eggs. The egg hunt literally lasted a couple of minutes, but still was a good time for the children. Of course, the Easter Bunny attended the event, but since Kyle already saw the bunny twice in one week, we opted to leave and get Kyle down for his afternoon nap.

Egg-cellent Family Times!
This evening we had a fun family activity, along with beginning a new holiday tradition...coloring Easter eggs. Kyle even attempted to color his hands as well...LOL! We have waited until Kyle was a little older in order to do this so he would be able to participate. I'm sure each year he will enjoy it more and more... Mommy and Daddy had a pretty good time as well! We experimented with several various ways to "decorate" the eggs...solid color, marble, and tie dye...some ways turned out better than others. All in all Kyle did a great job and he has really pretty colored eggs as a result!
Next step is deciding what to do with the eggs? Actually, we plan to use the eggs as part of Kyle's egg hunt on Easter Sunday and who knows...maybe even eat one or two? If you have any ideas for a great way to serve the eggs I would love to hear the suggestions.
Enjoy the pictures below of Kyle's first attempt at coloring Easter Eggs!
