Easter Activities - Kyle Style

Kyle certainly had his fair share of Easter activities today! Kyle DID receive a visit from the Easter Bunny...he must have been a good little boy this year! The bunny sure does know what excites Kyle because he delivered Hot Wheels/Matchbox cars, a carrying case for the cars, construction equipment vehicles to be used in the dirt outside, and an Easter card from Mommy and Daddy with a choo-choo train on the front! Recently, Kyle has been having a ball playing with many of his Daddy's hot wheel cars, but many of them are falling apart and not very safe for Kyle to be playing with, so we thought it was time he had a set of his very own!

On top of all the goodies the bunny left for Kyle, he also hid many eggs in the front yard for Kyle to locate... Yes, Kyle's 3rd Easter Egg Hunt of the year! He was so excited to see the eggs in the front yard...each egg he saw he would point and say "Whoa" and run to it...so cute!! To complete the Easter activities Kyle had his festive cupcake and also completed an Easter craft!

I sure hope Kyle has enjoyed the Easter season this year complete with three egg hunts, coloring Easter eggs, a visit with the Easter bunny, and I'm sure his favorite...the vehicle goodies left by the bunny!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter celebrating with their family and friends!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from our family to yours!

More Easter Fun!

This afternoon we headed to yet another Easter Egg Hunt held at a local park. The weather was very sunny and nice for a family adventure. Kyle was able to run, swing, slide, and play on the playground before hunting for the eggs. The egg hunt literally lasted a couple of minutes, but still was a good time for the children. Of course, the Easter Bunny attended the event, but since Kyle already saw the bunny twice in one week, we opted to leave and get Kyle down for his afternoon nap.

Egg-cellent Family Times!

This evening we had a fun family activity, along with beginning a new holiday tradition...coloring Easter eggs. Kyle even attempted to color his hands as well...LOL! We have waited until Kyle was a little older in order to do this so he would be able to participate. I'm sure each year he will enjoy it more and more... Mommy and Daddy had a pretty good time as well! We experimented with several various ways to "decorate" the eggs...solid color, marble, and tie dye...some ways turned out better than others. All in all Kyle did a great job and he has really pretty colored eggs as a result!

Next step is deciding what to do with the eggs? Actually, we plan to use the eggs as part of Kyle's egg hunt on Easter Sunday and who knows...maybe even eat one or two? If you have any ideas for a great way to serve the eggs I would love to hear the suggestions.

Enjoy the pictures below of Kyle's first attempt at coloring Easter Eggs!

Easter Gift Bags

This morning was Kyle's last day of preschool before Easter Sunday, so Kyle delivered little holiday gift bags to each of the children in his class. Included in the bag was an Easter sticker book and an Easter egg filled with M&M's (Love the dollar section at Target!). I filled the cute little bags with Easter grass and put the goodies on top and finished the bag off with a little tag which read...Happy Easter! From, Kyle. I realize this isn't necessary to do for his class, but I really enjoy doing this and in the end hope it puts a smile on the children's faces when they find what is hidden inside.

A Future Fireman?

As I mentioned in yesterday's post about the Easter Egg Hunt we went to, there were many activities to entertain the children. Of course, the main event was hunting for the Easter eggs. Yes, Kyle had a great time finding the eggs, but we don't believe this was his absolute favorite event of the morning.

Kyle's hands down favorite was seeing the emergency vehicles...firetruck, ambulance, fire support truck, and police car. He was able to examine the equipment, and even had the opportunity to sit in the firetruck and the fire support truck. As with most boys, Kyle is fascinated with any type of vehicle, but his motto is...the bigger the better! Maybe one day Kyle will want to be a fireman, police officer, or paramedic just so he can ride around in the fun, cool cars and trucks all day. We shall see, obviously there is much more to choosing these professions besides the vehicle. The police and fire departments are very involved in the community helping to educate the children so I'm sure one day in the future Kyle will learn in more detail the real uses for these vehicles. Enjoy the pictures below of our "little fireman".

Gotta go, I just received an emergency call!

How do you start this thing?

Now I'm on my way!

One of the firemen got in the truck with him and was teaching Kyle
how to drive the truck...
this made his day (and the fireman's day as well)

Easter Egg Hunt

This morning The Spence Family headed to an Easter Egg Hunt at a local park. This is the first year Kyle has been to a public egg hunt since last year the weather was very cold and rainy. Today, however, the weather was just perfect for the festive outdoor event and Kyle had an absolute ball! He even had his very own theme for the Easter Egg Hunt - Thomas the Train, including a Thomas Easter basket and of course he was decked out in his Thomas attire. The hunt was separated into several areas depending on the children's ages, which is a great idea. All the eggs were found in a matter of minutes, but there were so many other activities to keep the children entertained...including the opportunity to meet and pose with the Easter Bunny!

Actually, Kyle's favorite part of the outing deserves it's very own post, so please be on the look out for the fun, cute pictures tomorrow!

On The Hunt...

For Easter Eggs!!
Kyle had his 1st Easter Egg Hunt this morning in the backyard!! To jazz things up a bit, we found basketball and soccer ball eggs. Kyle loves balls so this made it much more "Munchkin friendly". It had snowed earlier in the morning and the temperature was pretty cold so it shortened the hunt a bit. It just seems "wrong" to wear a winter coat and hat on Easter Day....can't compete with Mother Nature though!
Enjoy the pictures of Kyle on the hunt for all his eggs!!

HAPPY HAPPY EASTER!

HAPPY
EASTER
Looks as though My Little Munchkin received a visit from the Easter Bunny! He must have been pretty well behaved since the bunny brought a wide assortment of his favorite things...cars, trucks, books, an Elmo DVD, his very first tricycle, and a really cool helmet.
Kyle has certainly enjoyed examining his new gifts, finding out what goodies are in his eggs, and trying out his new bike. The first thing he learned to do with his bike is ring the bell! Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate today to take his first ride outside, but we will have plenty of practice time in the near future.
The Munchkin also would like to thank Ce Ce and Poppy (a.k.a. Grandma and Grandpa) for his Easter card and surprise. Kyle is super excited to bring Mommy to the toy store within the next few days!
We had a delicious Easter feast this afternoon consisting of roast, roasted potatoes, brocolli, and ceaser salad. The perfect meal for Easter Sunday!!
Enjoy the pictures of Kyle's third visit from the Easter Bunny!!

Is it really supposed to snow on Easter Sunday??? Apparently, the answer is yes. See the picture below for proof!!
