Balloons For Ethan

For many months, I have been following the story of a little boy named Ethan Powell who had leukemia. Last week Ethan passed away and today at 3p.m. his parents asked everyone to release a blue balloon from their home in his memory. Below are a couple of pictures of the balloon released here in Missouri. This story really touched me not only because he was an infant, but seven years ago I lost my older sister to leukemia.

Must look closely, but you can see the balloon in the center of the picture.

Oh what a beautiful, touching story. Do you know how many people across the US released balloons today?

I don't know how many people released balloons, but I suspect it was thousands based on the amount of people who have been following the story. Their website has over 5 million visitors!!

What a sweet way to honor Ethan. I am sorry to hear that you lost your sister.
